350 SMAC and Opening Night Festivities Postponed

EVANS MILLS, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park, set for a huge season of action has made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s race program and postpone the season opening Finger Lakes 50 for the 350 SMAC series to be rescheduled for another date in the future. The Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modifieds season opening “May Flowers 50” race will be moved to the following week May 11, 2024 as part of Mother’s Day Weekend Presented by NYS Stop DWI.

In the immediate future, an Open Practice will be held at EMRP Friday May 3rd from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with gates opening at 3:00pm. Any division is welcome to practice and pit passes are $25

Following that, next Wednesday May 8th is the Opening Night for the brand new Evans Mills Kartway which will be beginning heat racing at 7:00pm for Jr. Clone Karts, Pro Clone Karts, Open Wheel Microds, and Xtreme Budget Predators.

Next Saturday, May 11th will again be a packed show featuring the touring Small Block Supers Championship Series, Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modifieds, Excess Storage Pro Late Models, Christman Fuel Service INEX Legends, Stewart’s Shops Sport Compacts, and the FENIX U-Pull U-Save Syracuse Thunderstocks.

EMRP general manager mentioned, “This is was a difficult decision to make and unfortunately needed to be made earlier than we typically do. We factored in the unchanged forecast of rain for both Saturday and our rain date option on Sunday. We also had to consider our guest touring series comprised of many teams and fans traveling from New England, some as far away as eight hours.”

Czerow continued, “We are thankful to be working with John Burke of the 350 SMAC tour to reschedule the Finger Lakes 50 race honoring Doug Holmes. There is a lot of momentum behind this race and we want to make sure the three-race Empire State Series is successful. We are also thankful to the teams that came to practice including Dave Helliwell, Griffin Miller, and Robbie Wirth. We would be happy to have more join us Friday May 3rd to shake their car down for the season.”
