EVANS MILLS, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park will host two INEX Legend Car National Qualifier races during the 2025 season on Saturday June 7th and Saturday September 13th as part of the 6th Annual John Burr Classic. The two dates were selected while considering the schedules of the Ontario Legend Car Series and the Great Lakes Legends Series so that the Ontario, Canada based teams could travel to New York.
Two National Qualifier races will continue to build the INEX program at EMRP which includes an INEX/US Legend Car parts store/dealership and opportunities for track time in a Legend car.
On the national level, the INEX Legend Car division is divided into four groups mainly based on age and/or experience. These groups from youngest to oldest are Young Lions, Semi-Pros, Pros, and Masters. During a National Qualifier event, there is essentially four races within the A-Main. The driver that finishes highest compared to the other drivers in their designated group earns a National Qualifying spot to attend the INEX Asphalt Nationals in the fall.
The Christman Fuel Service INEX Legends competed in a National Qualifier race during last year’s John Burr Classic which saw Matt Haufe take the overall win of the A-Main. The four drivers earning qualifying spots were Chris Piasecki (PA – Masters), Matt Haufe (ON – Pro), Wes Cuthbertson (ON – Semi-Pro), and Jayden Hall (NY – Young Lion).
Each Legend Car feature race at the Evans Mills Raceway Park awards two different sets of points to drivers. One set of points is towards the EMRP Track Championship and does not require a driver to be an active INEX member. The other set of points are the official INEX points that are only awarded to drivers with active INEX memberships, and will count towards a State and National Championship. Drivers may click here to sign-up for an INEX membership: INEX Membership Sign-Up.
From INEXseries.com, a driver’s yearly points are determined from 20 races. Those 20 races are comprised of 18 local events (EMRP/Peterborough/Sauble/etc.), the drivers best finish from a regional/national qualifying event, and their finishing position a their respective groups national event.
A driver must compete in 10 INEX sanctioned events to be considered for a State or National Championship.
