EMRP Regular Scores First Win in First Start

EVANS MILLS, NY – The 6th Annual John Burr Classic kicked off on September 12th with three racing divisions and open practice for divisions racing on Saturday evening. Trusted partners TJ Toyota of Potsdam, Waite Toyota in Watertown, Ken Tibbles Roofing, NAPA Auto Parts, Blue DEF, and PEAK again supported the weekend to make it all possible!

The Thunderstock division once again showed they can be the stars of the evening with the closing laps of the race coming down to the top three of Goodale, Gilson, and Burns running each others bumpers for multiple laps without tangling with each other. Respect was shown and Goodale went on to take the win.

The Christman Fuel Service INEX Legends were scheduled to run both nights of the John Burr Classic thanks to support and additional purse added by the Ward and Herring families through their businesses Westward Painting Co., and Herring Log Home Restoration. The INEX Legends would be competing in the newest edition of the Kevin Ward Jr. Legacy Race the following day for an impressive $1,300 to win event. On Friday, Seekonk Speedway regular Brandon Martinez would look to be quickest in his heat and continue that speed in the feature. During the race there were flashes of Joel Hall and Brayton Malbeuf contending for the lead but Martinez would hold on for 25 laps to score the win.

The Jake’s Automotive Small Block Supermodifieds would make their second trip to EMRP in 2025. Mike Bruce won the spring race and would hope to repeat. Greg O’Connor and Tim Proud would win their heat races and prepare to lead the charge. However, the most dominate car of the evening belonged to Dalton Rombough in the Ed Matteson owned #47. Rombough was called to fill in for Matt Matteson due to his familiarity with the EMRP oval. Rombough would cross the finish line first in his first ever start in a Small Block Super by almost a straight away over second place.
