350 SMAC and Mod 50 Kickoff 2024

Evans Mills, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park will be kicking off the start to the 2024 season with an action packed Opening Night on Saturday May 4, 2024. EMRP is proud to announce the return of the 350 Supermodified Atlantic Charter (350 SMAC) touring series powered by Sundial Cocktails to host the “Finger Lakes 50.” EMRP will also be hosting the new “May Flowers 50;” a 50-lap race for the Sportsman Modified division on top of racing all weekly divisions including Pro Late Models, INEX Legends, Sport Compacts, and Thunderstocks. The evening’s events will begin earlier in the day to allow for fans to feel more sun shine during the event. Complete schedules will be coming in the future.

EMRP general manager Nick Czerow commented, “it’s exciting to have the 350 SMAC tour back on the schedule! Fans and local race teams have been asking for a return of 350 supers since the first event that Michael Muldoon Jr. won in 2022. The Finger Lakes 50 plus the addition of the extended Sportsman Modified race, the May Flowers 50 will give the North Country an electric start to the season on asphalt! The tour, John Burke, and Michael Muldoon Sr., strongly believe in their Empire State Series and we are glad to be a part of it.

350 SMAC will be making their second trip ever to EMRP and the “Finger Lakes 50” is a race designated to celebrate Doug Holmes, and also serve as the first race of SMAC’s Empire State Series. Holmes will be honored as an integral part of supermodified racing and for pushing forward the 350 supermodified division.

From 350 SMAC:

Through his expertise building engines for 350 Super racers alike out of Finger Lakes Machine shop in Auburn, NY, Holmes continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Supermodified racing as we know it today. Without Doug’s commitment and passion, 350 SMAC would not be possible.

The Finger Lakes 50 will certainly hold special significance for several competitors, as there will be countless cars in the field with engines built by Doug at Finger Lakes Machine. As a tribute to Doug’s dedication, this event promises to be ultra-competitive, with top drivers from New York and New England doing battle in the first supermodified race of 2024.

The last time the 350 SMAC Supermodified Series visited Evans Mills was on May 7, 2022, for the inaugural Mike Muldoon Legend Series show. This too was a night filled with much intense competition, culminating in a spectacular victory by Michael Muldoon in honor of his Dad ahead of Richard Eaton, Mike Keddy, Scott Watts, and James Witkum.

Fans can expect another evening of action packed excitement as the 350 SMAC Supermodified Series returns to Northern New York.

“We are very excited to bring 350 SMAC back to Evans Mills Raceway Park for the inaugural Finger Lakes 50,” said John Burke, owner of SMAC. “Doug Holmes is a true icon in our sport, and this event is our way of honoring his legacy and contributions. We invite fans and drivers alike to join us for what promises to be a great night of racing at one of the premiere facilities in New York State.”
