EVANS MILLS, NY – The Northern Lights at the Evans Mills Raceway Park is entering Christmas weekend. This year, organizers have decided to extend their open nights for the light show. From now until the close of the show on New Year’s Day, Northern Lights will be open every night from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This includes Christmas day and Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The decision was made to offer more opportunities for families to come experience the magical light show. Tickets are $20 for a single carload and can be purchased ahead of time online at www.evansmillsracewaypark.com, or at the Christmas cottage on the night of the show with either cash or card. Open dates will now include: December 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and January 1.

Evans Mills Raceway Park general manager Nick Czerow commented “We wanted to extend our days so we could be there for families who maybe didn’t have the chance to come out yet because of a tight holiday schedule. We wanted to be open the whole week that kids are off from school in case those nights are easier for families. Being open Christmas day also gives families a chance to create a new holiday tradition to do after opening presents and spending the day with each other.”
On the second year of Northern Lights, Czerow added “We have been thrilled to see so many new faces come through the show this year, and have also seen a lot of returning families from last year. We’re thankful that some families have already made it a tradition to come out. For about 60% of the families coming to the show, it is their first time ever at the Evans Mills Raceway Park. We’re glad they are getting familiar with us and get to actually drive on the race track. We see also see a lot of cars coming down from Potsdam and Gouverneur.”
Czerow continued, “Thanks to the sponsor on board this year we were able to add more displays to the show, and have begun plans for next year to lengthen the path of the show into new areas of the property and add more custom displays. The sponsors that came on board these last two years are the real reason Northern Lights exists. They are all tremendous partners and are always community-minded.
