Northern Lights, a New Holiday Tradition is Born at EMRP

EVANS MILLS, NY – The North Country will play host to a new holiday attraction that will draw patrons to Evans Mills Raceway Park from multiple counties and Canada. Northern Lights, the newest holiday tradition is a personal vehicle and bus drive-through holiday light display experience and is in preparation for its inaugural year in 2022. The event is expected to open Thanksgiving weekend and operate weekly through New Year’s weekend from 5:00pm – 10:00pm every Thursday through Sunday. The drive-through course will take patrons through EMRP’s facility including driving onto the racetrack and through the pit area and midway.

Evans Mills Raceway Park (EMRP) will be transformed from an asphalt oval racing facility into a holiday wonderland in conjunction with community partners and Brandano Displays, Inc. Brandano Displays is providing an unforgettable professional experience. Their decades of experience have helped bring other shows such as Wegman’s Lights on the Lake (Liverpool, NY) and Holiday Fantasy of Lights (Fort Lauderdale, FL area) to fruition.

The team at EMRP is currently seeking sponsorship help from local businesses that believe in Northern Lights and want to help build the program each year. EMRP General Manager Nick Czerow said “We are grateful to have a tight knit community that believes in this mission and can share the vision of how this will grow each year. Becoming a sponsor will help us keep the show fresh each year and serve as a way for businesses to say thank you to all their supporters through the last year. We can’t wait to see the impact this has on families. Hopefully we can add some holiday cheer to everyone’s life”

EMRP Owners Lee and Peggy Gill have had their eyes on this concept for years since purchasing the facility in 2019.  “This event aligns perfectly with our mission here at Evans Mills Raceway Park ~ …establishing a friendly, clean, safe, and enjoyable destination for families to gather and create new memories together.  We feel deeply that this is the type of wholesome family event our North Country community needs and deserves,” said Peggy Gill.

Lee added “We’ve been structured around a racing program and because of that we have the property and resources to make this possible. It is neat that Northern Lights will be accessible to three counties or more. We are centrally located for the region and on the doorstep of Ft. Drum. We are glad that we can give back to the community, service members and their families.” On the future of Northern Lights Lee remarked “We are confident this can be an annual event.”

More information regarding Northern Lights and their supporting community partners will be released shortly. People can follow the progress of Northern Lights at www.evansmillsracewaypark.com and on Facebook at the Northern Lights at Evans Mills Raceway Park page.
