EVANS MILLS, NY – The third installment of Northern Lights, the holiday drive-thru light show hosted at the Evans Mills Raceway Park is in preparation to re-open on Thanksgiving night in partnership with returning presenting partner, the Bob Johnson Auto Group; specifically the four North Country stores (Watertown – Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Volkswagen, and Pulaski – Chevrolet and Ford).
The team at the Evans Mills Raceway Park is currently refurbishing massive holiday displays, signing on sponsors, and working on plans to improve the show for 2024. The local Bob Johnson Auto Group supported Northern Lights as a presenting partner from the first installment in 2022 that saw over nine feet of snow blanket the path through the duration of the season.
Mike Perkins, Managing Partner of Bob Johnson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, and Ford continually supports initiatives focused on adding to the quality of life for northern New York. Of his partnership with Northern Lights, Perkins stated “It’s important to have things to do in the winter for families in the North Country. It’s also a welcoming event for soldiers and families moving to the area with the United States Military who are immediately looking to explore the town and find things to enjoy.”
Perkins and local Bob Johnson Auto Group stores hold our military community in high regard and support where they can, which is evident by their Jeep Wall of Honor military display in the lobby of Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Watertown and their recent participation in the Adopt a Platoon program as part of the Northern New York Fort Drum Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army, which supports deployed platoons with care packages.
The Bob Johnson Auto Groups has also supported northern New York activities by sponsoring the racing season at the Evans Mills Raceway Park which included the special guest appearance on Military Appreciation Night of Dale Ogburn a Troutman, North Carolina native and Weapons Specialist in the U.S. Army. Ogburn the 2023 Carolina Crate Modified Series would finish 6th on this night in the #1NC Kinney Drugs Modified. He would also return to finish 3rd in the 5th Annual John Burr Classic.
Bob Johnson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Watertown is also the home for the official EMRP Ram 1500 Pace Truck that will be making its rounds to Trunk or Treats and Christmas Parades to promote Northern Lights. The Rocket 76er Weekend was brought to life with the help of the Bob Johnson Auto Group, the weekend celebrates the 4th of July with a 76-lap modified race which has been won by Joe Papin in it’s first two years.
The Evans Mills Raceway Park is grateful for the partnership between the two, stating “The Bob Johnson Auto Group brand is still a newer name for the northern community but they have proven to take every measure to engrain themselves into the community, our way of life, and support all the causes that we hold dear.”
