Evans Mills (NY) – On Saturday, August 18th, Evans Mills Raceway Park honors Nicole Berry-Garnsey with a Health & Wellness Night presented by FERRIS Commercial Mowers and Tug Edge Outdoor. The night features a health fair, bike giveaways for kids, a motorcycle cruise-in with free GA for riders, and the BG Fab Pit Crew Showdown! Racing includes the return of the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour as well. Carthage Central School district is also joining us for another School Spirit night(Carthage Central School district fans need to bring the tickets they received in school to be admitted into the races).
Nicole was a close friend of EMRP. Her brother, Brad Berry, spent years as the EMRP starter on the flag stand. Now her niece Brianna Berry is in her rookie campaign in the Christman Fuel Service INEX Legend #3. Nicole was a dedicated health professional who earned a Pre-Med degree from St. Lawrence University and a Master’s in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University. She worked as a Registered Dietitian at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and later founded Feed the Soul Nutrition in Watertown. As one of only three certified diabetes educators in Northern New York, she also consulted for regional hospitals. Her hobbies, skiing, snowshoeing, gardening, and boating, reflected her passion for wellness and healthy living both personally and professionally.
Before and during the races (GA gates at 5 pm and racing at 6 pm), there will be a Health & Wellness Fair taking place in the midway with local businesses and organizations. Along with that, drivers and crew members have donated bicycles to be raffled off to some lucky children in the stands throughout the night. To add to the bike mojo, a motorcycle cruise-in will happen in the midway. Staging for your motorcycles will occur at 4 pm. Anyone who rides their motorcycle into the midway for the cruise-in will receive a free general admission tickets.
Action on the night will begin with heat racing of the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour, Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modifieds, Christman Fuel Service Inex Legends, Stewarts Shops Sport Compacts, and NAPA Auto Parts Thunderstocks. Excess Storage Pro Late Models are off for the weekend. Before feature races, the BG Fab Pit Crew Showdown will take place on the front stretch with Kinney Drugs Modified teams. A modified will have to roll into a designated pit stall on the front stretch, and the team will have to swap the right rear and right front tires to determine their time. Prizes are available! To put an end to a night of remembrance, fun, and excitement, the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour and all four EMRP divisions mentioned above will compete in their feature races.
