Introducing the Evans Mills Kartway!

EVANS MILLS, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park is proud to announce the inaugural year of the “Evans Mills Kartway,” set to kick off on Wednesday May 8, 2024. In 2023, EMRP paved and extended section to the front stretch of the big track. This section combined with the original front stretch of the big track will be the location of the kart track. The Evans Mills Kartway will compete on Wednesday nights with 17 scheduled nights of racing. The final night of racing will be on Thursday September 12, 2024 as part of the 5th Annual John Burr Classic.

The Evans Mills Kartway will have 11 house divisions including Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Clone Unrestricted, Pro Clone Light, Pro Clone Medium, Pro Clone Heavy, Jr. Novice Open Wheel Microds, Limited Open Wheel Microds, Super Stock Open Wheel Microds, and Xtreme Budget Predators.

A tire rule spanning all racing divisions will be in place to support healthy competition and be mindful of costs associated with racing. Teams will have their tires stenciled at the end of hot laps and must run that set of four tires through the remainder of competition for that event. If a tire is cut, a rule is in place for the replacement of the tire.

Rulebooks for each division can be found under the Kartway Rules tab at www.evansmillsracewaypark.com. Any remaining rules will be posted March 5, 2024.

When selecting racing divisions Nick Czerow and Brady Gill of EMRP factored in what was currently local to Northern New York, Central New York, and where the future of kart racing should be.

Czerow commented, “We chose clone flat karts because that is the healthiest group of racers in our area and we wanted to give them another place to compete. We chose open wheel Microds as our “caged” option for families looking for some extra protection and to introduce drivers to different setup options. We also added Xtreme Budget Predators because we feel there should be a more affordable option for people looking to get seat time and just have fun with their peers. We also consolidated some of the age and weight groups within reason in hopes to provide healthier heat and feature fields for each division.”

Czerow continued, “The Evans Mills Kartway is a project the Gill family has been considering since taking the reigns of the Evans Mills Raceway Park. Not only will this provide racers another place to compete and have fun, but it also helps people get into asphalt racing at an earlier age in the North Country. We envision our Kartway as a feeder system into our INEX Legends and four-cylinder classes on the big track.”

The Evans Mills Raceway Park will be attending the Syracuse Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds on March 9th and 10th where they would love to meet kart racers interested in joining Evans Mills.
