EVANS MILLS, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park is extremely pleased to announce a new partnership in 2024, naming Kinney Drugs the title sponsor for the Sportsman Modifieds division. The Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modified division has seen steady growth each year and always puts on a great show for fans.
The Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modifieds are scheduled to race every Saturday night starting with their 50-lap “May Flowers 50” on Saturday May 4th and continuing through September 14th for the 5th Annual John Burr Classic 75 Presented by Ken Tibbles Roofing. Throughout the season, the Kinney Drugs Sportsman Modifieds will also do battle in the 2nd Annual Zeigler ’67 on Memorial Day Weekend honoring the founding family of The Mills, the Rocket 76er on June 29th, and a night of Twin 20-lap races on August 17th.
Many familiar faces are set to return for 2024 including some new ones as well. Saturday’s open practice on April 27th saw laps from defending track champion Kreig Heroth, 2023 Rookie of the Year Joe Papin, Taylor Caprara, Joel Hargrave, Tony Pettinelli, Rick Brunelle, Corey Trombley, Kevin Warren, Randy Brunelle, Steven Sherwood, Jeff Pringle, Dylan Bancroft, and newcomer Kyle Hart.
All cars in the division at the Evans Mills Raceway Park will be required to run a white Roof Strip Decal donning the Kinney Drugs branding.
EMRP general manager Nick Czerow stated “We’re excited to see our modifieds with the roof decal for Kinney Drugs. We all know how cool it looks in the NASCAR Whelen Series and I think the fans are going to love it here too!”
Kinney Drugs, a company committed to supporting their community began their relationship with the current ownership group of EMRP in 2022 by supporting the first year of the Northern Lights Holiday Light Show with the snowman fishing display. They also supported a recent fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network of NNY. Now they return to what some would say their roots by supporting motorsports in Northern New York.
Kinney Drugs is synonymous with so many memories for race fans thinking back to the days of “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie and Tim Fuller dominating in a white, orange, and blue Kinney Drugs modified.
Czerow continued “This partnership means more to all of us at Team EMRP than just a new business stepping up to help our program and drivers. Kinney Drugs is an iconic brand in Northeast motorsports and we’re happy to have them back in the fold.”
EMRP Owner Peggy Gill added “We’re honored that Kinney Drugs would come on board to support our track and modified division.”
To add to the excitement, Kinney Drugs pharmacist Jeff Kirkby will race an Excess Storage Pro Late Model this year as well.
From www.kinneydrugs.com; In 1903, Burt Kinney established the very first Kinney Drugs store in Gouverneur, NY. Since that time, Kinney Drugs has grown to nearly 100 stores across New York and Vermont.
