EVANS MILLS, NY – One of the most prestigious events of the 2026 calendar is on tap for this Saturday May 23rd at the Evans Mills Raceway Park. Glider Oil of the North Country has partnered with Legends Night featuring the 4th running of the Zeigler’67 race for the Kinney Drugs Modifieds. The Zeigler’67 honors EMRP’s founding family including brothers Bob and Dick Zeigler and their effort to pioneering auto racing in northern New York. The winner of the race will take home $1,967 in prize money, while taking the green flag for the feature earns drivers $250.
Local businesses, especially in the Boonville area, home of the Zeiglers have sponsored numerous bonus cash awards along with current friends and Zeiglers Scott, Rodney, Patti, and Steve. These awards are sprinkled throughout the night creating bonus pay for heat racers, feature winners, and unique awards throughout the Kinney Drugs Modifieds feature like the 13th place running car on lap 13 honoring Francis Brimmer or the Bruce Scott award for the 7th place finishing modified.
The first three editions of the Zeigler’67 were conquered by Kreig Heroth, Bryan Sherwood, and Joe Papin. They each earn their name on the perpetual Zeigler’67 trophy located at Checkers Tavern in the midway. The top of the trophy is an original trophy won by Bob Zeigler in 1967.
The night also features the annual Legends Night Cruise-In Car Show in the Midway. Classic and Project cars will be parked in the midway for spectators to enjoy. The Cruise-in will also feature parade laps around the track immediately following the final heat race of the evening. Staging for the Cruise-In is open 4:00pm – 5:00pm through the side gate to the left of the Box Office. Each Cruise-in car show is eligible for up to two general admission tickets when they sign their car in while staging. The vintage Glider Oil truck will be leading the charge front and center.
The night also includes a packed card of action including the return of the new LaFave Motor Sales Crown Vics and the first of three visits from the Classic Asphalt Modified Series. The Christman Fuel Services INEX Legends, Stewart’s Shops Sport Compacts, and Excess Storage Thunderstocks will also be competing in their second event of the season.
